To celebrate the sixteenth year of our founding, Sixteen Rivers Press welcomes you to an anniversary party featuring readings by acclaimed poets Dean Young & Matthew Zapruder, as well as light refreshments, Prosecco and a silent auction, at a private home in Berkeley.
Tickets to this event are on a sliding scale. Please select individual tickets at the level you can afford, and consider an additional donation. Proceeds will support Sixteen Rivers Press and the publication of its books. $25 of each ticket is non-deductible, and includes a gift of one backlist book of your choice.
Dean Young is the author of ten books of poetry. Among his many awards are a Guggenheim fellowship and a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts. The Poetry Foundation refers to him as "one of the most energetic, influential poets writing today."
Matthew Zapruder has received a Lannan Literary Fellowship, as well as a Guggenheim fellowship and a May Sarton Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is the author of four books of poetry, which include Come on All You Ghosts and, most recently, Sun Bear. He lives in Oakland and teaches at St. Mary's College.
Sixteen Rivers Press, a shared-work, nonprofit poetry collective, was founded in 1999 as an alternative publishing avenue for Greater Bay Area poets. The press is named for the sixteen rivers that flow into San Francisco Bay and is dedicated to the publication of fine poetry.
Please come join us for a fabulous afternoon of food, drink, poetry, delightful company, sparkling conversation, in a gorgeous Berkeley garden setting. If you cannot join us, we appreciate your donation at https://www.sixteenrivers.org/donate
