Nevenka and The Swing Riots - back by popular demand! October 24 in Santa Monica
For those of you who missed our double bill last December, you'll not want to miss this evening of high-spirited music.
Nevenka sings traditional Eastern European songs, with a twist! We will present cabaret-style Roma, Greek and Albanian tunes, plus songs from Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Kosovo and Ukraine.
The Swing Riots acoustic quirktette performs an irreverant gumbo of Romany ("Gypsy") Jazz, New Orleans Funeral Marches, Parisian Bal Musette, Russian Cabaret, Klezmer Freylekhs, Swing Standards & the occasional wild flying monkey.
