Performed only twice in Boston, "The Revelations of Divine Love (Metaphors from Sea and Sky)" has delighted audiences across the country and beyond since its premiere in 2009. Based largely on the texts of Julian of Norwich, a 14th c. English female mystic, it evokes a landscape of sea and sky. Filled with atmosphere and color, this remarkable oratorio creates a strong sense of mood and placespecifically Nantucket, which provided the composer's inspiration for this large-scale work with orchestra.
