Duo-Piano Concert with Lovchinsky and Graybil
Young Artists Igor Lovchinsky and Matthew Graybil, both Franco Center favorites as solo performers, will collaborate for this piano series-opening Friday evening program, featuring dual-piano pieces by American composers Walter Piston and Aaron Copland. Solo works by each will complete the evening's program. The Piston and Copland pieces are rarely performed, given that they require two very fine artists and two fine pianos. (The Center's two grand pianos will be put into service for this special evening in Performance Hall.) Our artists performed the Copland-Piston works in a critically-acclaimed recital in New York City last January (several years ago, they were fellow students at the Julliard School), and Franco Center audiences won't want to miss this unusual program, a "first" for the state of Maine.
