Acme Theatre Co. Presents: A Fairytale Feast
What if Snow White and the Huntsman fell in love? What if Hansel and Gretel never came down from their sugar high? What if the Brothers Grimm stumbled into the middle of one of their own fairy tales?
This summer, high school student members of Acme Theatre Company worked with professional playwright Brian Oglesby and Co-op staff members to re-imagine and adapt Grimm's fairy tales into a collection of short, food-themed plays.
The summer's harvest of culinary and theatrical creativity will be showcased on Saturday, October 3 in "A Fairytale Feast" at the Davis Odd Fellows Upper Hall. This evening will feature desserts crafted by the Davis Food Co-op, live music, and a sampling of the plays created this summer. All funds will go to support Acme Theatre's mission to empower young people and provide acting and technical training in an organization run entirely by young people themselves, under the direction of a small cadre of adult mentors.
Tickets are $40 online and $45 at the door. Doors open at 7:30pm; Performance at 8:00pm
