How to Soften the Grip of Your Critical Mind.
Learn to be gentle with yourself and create more space for joy and compassion.
Our critical mind, sometimes called our superego, is working incredibly hard to keep us safe and acceptable to the world. "You won't be able to accomplish that." " You look silly if you say that!" "Make sure no one notices that you are insecure!" and on and on it goes.
Its intentions are actually very good: it wants to make sure that we behave in a way that keeps us safe, loved and accepted. It is willing to devote every minute of the day to informing us of how we should behave to achieve this.
Unfortunately, this critical voice often lacks compassion and trust in who we are. It can be incredibly harsh and its grip can sometimes be so stifling that we lose our sense of joy and freedom.
Furthermore, the critical mind's understanding of the world originates from our childhood. It is based on our child's attempt to understand and negotiate the sometimes bewildering world of the adults around us.
In this workshop we will explore how to recognise this critical voice, how to befriend it and how to take steps towards experiencing what life might be like when its grip starts to soften.
THIS INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP IS OPEN TO ALL, NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
