David Dodson, John and Rachel Nicholas and Friends
DAVID DODSON writes GREAT songs that run the gamut of American styles-folk, rock, blues, jazz and country. They cover a variety of topics and range from poignant to hilarious. He plays a mean guitar, tells a good story, sings like a bird, and he's got rhythm. Who could ask for anything more? Join us for a look inside the WHACKO brain of David Dodson.
David has shared the stage with K D Lang, Bill Staines, Ramblin Jack Elliot, Gordon Bok, Dougie MacLean, The Persuasions, Greg Brown, Joe Ely, Marcia Ball, Sha Na Na, Chicago, and the Flying Burrito Brothers. He was a winner of the "New Folk" contest at the Kerrville Folk Festival.
JOHN AND RACHEL NICHOLAS
Two minds. Two hearts. Two voices. Add time, love, tears, laughter. The result is a musical alchemy all their own.
The mysterious workings of Fate and the Muses had a hand in bringing Rachel Macias and John Nicholas together. Born and raised on opposite coasts they were brought together through music in Santa Barbara, California. They were married in 1979 and wherever their path together has taken them from California to New York City to New England music and their love for each other has been a constant in their lives.
After ducking under the radar for a few years, John and Rachel Nicholas have reemerged with a soulful new release. Recorded in their home studio over the course of 3 years, "Here You Are" is an emotive album of maturity and depth.
Their lyric driven songs are an eclectic brew of rootsy Americana, folk and rock highlighted by soulful singing and harmonies. As one reviewer has noted, "They sing with one voice."
