Cayuga Chamber Orchestra: Orchestral Series Concert #3
Cornelia Laemmli Orth, originally from Switzerland and now based in Tennessee where she is the Music Director of Symphony of the Mountains is our third candidate to become our next Music Director. This performance will feature a symphony by Beethoven that is too often overshadowed by the works on either side of it, the third and fifth symphonies. Hear it brought to center stage along with a virtuosic concerto by Haydn, performed by Clive Greensmith (pictured) former cellist of the Tokyo String Quartet.
Be sure to join us at the pre-concert chat which begins at 6:45pm and is free to all ticket-holders. Maestra Orth will offer her insights about the music on the program, and share why she thought the Schubert Overture would be a perfect complement to the other works.
SCHUBERT: Overture in B-flat Major, D. 470 (Conductor's Choice)
HAYDN: Cello Concerto No. 1 in C Major Clive Greensmith, cello
BEETHOVEN: Symphony No. 4, Op 60 in B-flat Major
