SOLD OUT Politics & Prose and Sixth & I Present GLORIA STEINEM
Perhaps the most iconic feminist and activist, Steinem was instrumental in organizing the Women's Action Alliance, the National Women's Political Caucus, the Women's Media Center, and many others. She is an award-winning journalist as well as the recipient of an Emmy for excellence in television writingand of course she's legendary as a co-founder of Ms.(and remains active as one of the magazine's consulting editors). In Steinem's new memoir, MY LIFE ON THE ROAD, she shares stories of her time just starting out--early encounters with social activism and politics, and first forays into journalism--alongside scenes of the early growth of a revolutionary movement for equality, and the story of how surprising encounters on the road shaped both.
The author will be in conversation with Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.
