Rat City All-Star Clinic 3: Blocking
Join us for a 2-hour Clinic lead by skaters from the Rat City All-Star Team.
Date and Time: Saturday, March 24th 2012, from 11am to 1pm.
This third of five clinics will focus on blocking at the beginner to intermediate level. Learn the art of one-on-one blocking. Know when to hit and when to sit. RCRG All-Star Shorty Ounce will share some tips and help you with the fundamentals of one-on-one blocking. Shorty is known for her quick plow stops and ability to hold back a jammer by herself at the front of the pack. We'll work on timing and control and using the angles of the track to your advantage.
We request that all participants are able to skate using cross-overs, can safely give/receive contact and fall small.
Coaches who wish to observe drills and strategy may purchase an Observer ticket.
Please bring all required derby gear and skates (including wheels appropriate for a hard sport court), a water bottle, and a notebook and pen if you'd like to take notes.
If you have WFTDA or USARS insurance, please enter your number at check out. If you do not have this type of supplemental coverage, you MUST have primary insurance. All participants sign a liability waiver.

Q&A
Question: |
Is there an age requirement? |
Answer: |
This clinic is open to junior roller derby skaters in their teens. All participants should have minimum WFTDA skills and youth and adults share the track, so we want youth participants to be safe (good skating skill, reasonable relative size). |

Question: |
I'm not a Coach, I'd like to purchase an Observer ticket. |
Answer: |
The observer tickets is for coaches, other support staff, or skaters who'd like to take notes on drills. |
