Commonwealth Chorale presents '"Exile & Miracles", Handel's Israel in Egypt
We launch our debut season as Commonwealth Chorale with Handel's monumental Israel in Egypt. Beloved by audiences worldwide for the dazzling breadth and variety of its choral movements, this powerful work contains some of Handel's most vivid writing. Through text painting and the masterful interplay of orchestra and chorus, Israel in Egypt brings us frogs and flies, hailstones and fire, not to mention a memorable horse and rider. Few choral works can match the sweep of this 18th century masterpiece. With drama and stillness, despair and triumph, Israel in Egypt has it all.
