Behind-the-Scenes Tour at the Smithsonian National Zoo
Sunday, September 13, 2015 10:30am-3:00pm
Join the DC EcoWomen on a behind the scenes tour at the Smithsonian National Zoo! EcoWomen will join a zoo keeper on a half-day tour of the zoo, learning what it's like to be a keeper and all about the unique animals found there. Then, we will step behind the scenes of two exhibits to meet some of the animals up close and in person and learn more about the care they receive day to day. If you are interested in learning more about these wild animals from around the world in your own backyard, please join us on September 13th!
Things to note:
- The tour will not cover the entire zoo, but everyone will be able to visit the remainder of the zoo afterward on their own time.
- Please wear comfortable clothes and good walking shoes. No heels please.
- Bring lots of water and either a picnic lunch or money to purchase lunch at one of the many food pavilions. We will be stopping for lunch around noon and will continue the tour for another hour or so afterward.
- There are a limited number of spaces available for the tour so we do not stress the animals behind the scenes. Each person must have signed up and paid for their own ticket. No unpaid guests please.
- This is an all-women event (sorry guys!)
