PRESENTATION: Current Trends in BIM for Design Collaboration, Construction and Facilities Management
With BIM rapidly maturing into a must-have project tool, Hoffman Construction will discuss current trends in the industry, including:
Finding best-value in procuring BIM services from designers and subcontractors Understanding ROI the whole is often greater than the sum of its parts Using BIM in Preconstruction to enhance constructability review and rapid-response estimating Site Civil models (CIM) coordinating existing and planned utilities with buildings, shored excavations and other site features Beyond Clash Detection leveraging BIM to optimize prefabrication, preassembly and quality control Lessons learned for developing meaningful Facilities models (FIM)
PRESENTER: Dale Stenning
Dale manages BIM and Digital Laser Scanning operations for Hoffman Construction. He studied architecture and engineering at the University of Washington and joined Hoffman in 1998. As a pioneer in the application of BIM technology, Dale has worked closely with some of the world's leading architects, including Frank Gehry on the Experience Music Project, and Rem Koolhaas on the Seattle Central Library. Dale is currently managing BIM workflows for the construction of highly complex factories in the aerospace, data center and semiconductor industries, among other projects.
PRESENTER: Dave Johnson
Dave is an Operations Manager for Hoffman Construction. He studied mechanical engineering at the University of Washington and joined Hoffman in 1995. He has experience in a wide variety of project types including Seattle Central Library, Brightwater Treatment Plant and Sound Transit Stations. Dave is currently working on preconstruction on a couple of Sound Transit projects and is involved in the implantation of the BIM program.

Non-members will be charged $39.00 before 12:00 Noon on the Monday immediately preceding the meeting, and $45.00 thereafter. REGISTRATION: TBD Please note that registration will be closed Monday September 7th at 8:00 pm. A very limited of first come first served meals will be available at the door. MENU: You may order Chicken Diable, Cilantro-Lime Marinated Halibut with Lemon Salsa Verde or Vegetarian (requires one week advance notice) dinner.
