In one sentence, Homeschool Dropout could be described as a show about a blow up doll, headgear, a robot baby, and Lady GaGa. In actuality, it's much more than that. It's a story about overcoming obstacles and the unexpected bullies you have to face when going after what you want. The story is a true one for 23 year old Adam Bryan, who spent the ages of 8-17 homeschooled due to bullying he received after his severe latex allergy diagnosis. Even at a young age, Bryan had a passion for the arts, but he was unable to pursue it as much as he wanted. "I wasn't able to get that education in school because I was at home, and my family couldn't always afford it elsewhere", says Bryan. With "Homeschool Dropout", comes the launch of a pilot program for Bryan's Red Pants Productions, the company which brought the original musical "Behind Closed Doors" to Hamilton Fringe last summer. Aimed towards children and youth in financial need, the program is called the Red Pants Productions Scholarship Program, where youth in Hamilton and the GTA can apply for scholarships in dance, music, and theatre/acting by going to http://redpants.ca.
