Andrew Ross: Phoenix: Lessons from the World's Least Sustainable City
In Bird on Fire, social and cultural scientist Andrew Ross examines the prospects for sustainability in Phoenix, Arizona, one of the fastest growing and least sustainable metropolitan regions: a city in the bull's eye of global warming. Ross contends that if we can't change the game in fast-growing, low-density cities like Phoenix, the whole movement has a major problem. He argues that solutions will come through political and social change rather than technological fixes. Presented by the Town Hall Center for Civic Life with Elliott Bay Book Company. Series media sponsorship provided by PubliCola. Series supported by The Boeing Company Charitable Trust and the RealNetworks Foundation.
