Other Minds Composer Fellowship Concert

Other Minds brings back the Fellowship concert, featuring Rootstock Percussion, and presented in partnership with The LAB.
Emerging composers D. Edward Davis, John P. Hastings, Peter Swendsen, and Jen Wang were selected to participate in a special 8-day residency, associated with the Other Minds Festival. As Fellows they'll take part in lecture-presentations, panel discussions, workshops, and seminars, and have the opportunity to spend ample time with this year's featured OM composers.
The experience culminates in this concert, with works by each of the Fellows PLUS selections John Cage, performed by Rootstock, the Bay Area's top trio of percussionists: Chris Froh, Dan Kennedy, and Loren Mach.

It's certainly possible! John Hastings's score allows the players to choose their own sounds. If you feel that strongly about ratchets, try suggesting it directly to the players =P (from Adam) |
