BROOKLYN GYPSIES: Ghetto Hors d'oeuvres: Borders Collide
Ghetto Hors d'oeuvres: Borders Collide is the next in this series of poetic theatrical performances by Brooklyn Gypsies in which rappers and poets break down borders to collaboratively create an ode to Brooklyn's gritty streets. Served with free hors d'oeuvres, the audience bears witness as an eclectic group of Brooklyn artists, both native and immigrant, decipher the block and break down the rock that is the foundation and cornerstone of Brooklyn. Performances are followed by a live DJ set, conversation and dancing.

BROOKLYN GYPSIES is an eclectic artist collective made up of New Yorkers both native and immigrant to the city and led in part by Modesto "Flako" Jimenez. They present annual showcases of new work in theater, dance, poetry and film that spark dialogues on critical issues of immigration, economics, and urban survival. They curate a mix of established and emerging artists and give them a platform to explore complex issues in a stimulating environment. Their previous show, Conversation: How to Make it in Black America, Pt. 1, premiered at JACK in July 2015.
