The Buffalo Gals & Past Due & Playable!!
LeGacy presents a musical celebration that marks the beginning of the Nevada Theatre's 150th Birthday Weekend! The longest continually operating theatre on the west coast turns 150 on September 11th and LeGacy Presents begins a very special weekend with musical guests The Buffalo Gals & Past Due & Playable, Friday night September 11th at 8pm. Tickets are only $20 in advance, and $22 at the door...also available at Harmony Books in Nevada City, the BookSeller in Grass Valley, here online or call (530) 268 5419 for more info and reservations. Opening the evening for The Buffalo Gals is Past Due & Playable. Past Due and Playable has been entertaining West coast audiences since 1990. Drawing from a Bluegrass and Old Timey background, the band has branched out over the years to include influences from Country, Swing, Folk and good old Rock and Roll. Add to this, some fine vocal harmonies and a pile of original tunes, and you will get an idea of what to expect from Past Due and Playable. The band has shared the stage with the likes of Peter Rowan and Laurie Lewis and even opened once for country star Tanya Tucker. When past Due and Playable take the stage, you can count on a good dose of humor and some fine instrumental work.Rudy darling (Fiddle), Paul Siese (Banjo), Gary Sobonya (guitar, mandolin), Kirk Gramko (Dobro, guitar) and Mary Curtin (Bass) will always leave you smiling.
Headlining the evening is the Buffalo Gals!! A string band firmly rooted in the old-time music tradition, the Buffalo Gals have a vast repertoire to suit any audience and any occasion. From traditional fiddle tunes to modern classics done in an old-time style, from country rags to swing, the Buffalo Gals will show you a good time.
