Los Angeles Valley College presents Jean Anouilh's comic masterpiece RING ROUND THE MOON in the Horseshoe Theater on the LAVC campus.
A grand ball at an impossibly elegant French chateau is the setting for this modern Cinderella story of a princess who is not a princess, of identical twin brothers who couldn't be more different, of secret rendezvous and dangerous masquerades, of duels unfought and love unspoken.
Fluffy as a meringue, sparkling as champagne and tart as ripe raspberries, Anouilh's comedy of mistaken identities and broken hearts is a complete delight, a masterpiece of wit and charm and penetrating insight into the mysteries of the human heart. In the brilliant translation by Christopher Fry.
The production is directed by LAVC professor Chris Coddington, the scenery and lights are designed by LAVC chairperson Jennifer Read.
RING ROUND THE MOON opens Thursday, December 3 at 7:30pm and continues Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 4-6. All performances are in the LA Valley College Horseshoe Theater. Evening performances are at 7:30pm and Saturday and Sunday matinees begin at 2pm. Tickets are $15.00 if purchased in advance here on brownpapertickets.com, $20.00 if purchased at the door.
