An ATM®, 4 workshops in the morning, a catered lunch, then 4 more workshops with a fun closing workshop to end the day.
This year we have an wonderful assortment of workshops for practitioners and trainees. The conference is at our new fully accessible venue at Ripley Grier Studios (near Penn Station).

9:00 to 9:35 Registration and Check In Doors open at 9:00, coffee and pastries.
9:35 to 10:25 Morning ATM with Jim Blanshard, Lucia Campoy, Dorothy O'Shea, Mac Prible and Carol Teitelbaum
10:30 to 12:30 Morning Workshops
1. Moving Back to Vertical in FI℠ with Robert Cowie and Andrew Gibbons
In FI, we introduce new possibilities to clients as they lie on a table. But how do we help them maintain these changes as they transition to sitting? In this workshop you'll learn and practice a reliable technique for moving clients back to vertical smoothly. (Open to Practitioners)
2. Seeing the Skeleton: the Spine and Pelvis in Movement with Christine Becker
This workshop will clarify the available movements of the spine and pelvis, not only in anatomical position, but in different positions on the Feldenkrais table. Participants will have the opportunity to hone their visual and palpatory skills. (Open to Practitioners and Trainees)
3. A for Effort: Creating Exercises Requiring Effort with Andrew Carter
Our work most often involves movement with ease; but some actions require significant muscular effort to be successful. This workshop provides a fun structure to practice generating physical exercises using our understanding of ATM and FI movement techniques. (Open to Practitioners and Trainees)
4. Completing the PatternMoving Beyond The Template with Karen Donelson
As we strive to help our students see their whole self in movement, are we clear about how that "whole system" works? This workshop, through a combination of didactic and exploratory learning will evolve your understanding of human movement so that you can create more effective and relevant lessons. (Open to Practitioners)
12:30 to 1:30 Lunch Catered by Butch's Cafe, lunch includes a variety of wraps and salads with plenty of vegetarian options.
1:30 to 1:50 Chit Chat with the Region Officers A quick overview of region events and resources with Nancy, Barbara and Rachel and a special presentation.
2:00 to 4:00 Afternoon Workshops
5. FI Strategies for Repetitive Stress Injuries with Scott Fraser
RSI: Repetitive Stress Injuries whether caused by a computer keyboardor by a violin or guitarrespond very well to certain FI strategies and tactics. Come learn how to address RSI with ease and elegance. (Open to Practitioners)
6. Clarity, Variety and Simplicity in FI with Kevin Creedon and Jean Strybos Fung
Variety in FI is important but too much can obscure the focus of a lesson. In this workshop, you'll learn how to increase variety and improve clarity without changing your position, your student's position, or how you are moving them. (Open to Practitioners)
7. Dancing with Moshe and Luigi with Donna Gianell
Learn how to dance in standing, sitting and reclining. A fun application of the Method to the Luigi Jazz Dance technique, which is famous for helping many regain movement after injuries. No dance experience necessary. (Open to Practitioners, Trainees & the Public)
8. Flexors, Extensors and The Gravity Factor with Cathy Paine
When do extensor muscles cause flexion instead of extension? If muscles can't push, what are they doing when we are pushing? And what does gravity have to do with it? If you want to know, this is the workshop for you! (Open to Practitioners and Trainees)
4:15 to 5:00: Closing Workshop
Mark Hirschfield and Kathy Yates have something light and fun to end the daybut don't tell anyoneit's a secret! (Everyone)
