Following our debut sold-out performance, Stories from the Shtetl returns with a whole new round of stories and performers. Starring Joshua Walters ("Exceptionally sharpin the funniest possible way" -SF Chronicle), Heather Gold ("A set of wits equal to any major player on Comedy Central" - Austin Chronicle), Ruchama Burrell (Fabulous cook and former attorney for the disenfranchised) and Michael Kaye (the Moth, Porchlight, Rolling Stone) will highlight the Second coming of a new Jew-ish themed storytelling series in Berkeley on Thursday January 12, 2011 at 8:15PM. "I want to provide public access to the unique perspective of the Jewish village," says founder and performer Michael Kaye. "I'm also interested in expanding the notion of shtetl to include stories by people who are not Jewish but still have their own experience of the shtetl."
