Driving Miss Daisy
Nashua Theatre Guild is pleased to present "Driving Miss Daisy" the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Alfred Uhry.
Set in mid-century Atlanta, Driving Miss daisy tells the story of an elderly Jewish matron, Daisy Werthan (Barbara Webb), and her chauffeur, Hoke Coleburn (Chris Leon). At first Daisy is none to happy about being forced to rely on a black man. But Hoke gradually wins her over, and during the 25-year span of the play the two develop a deep-rooted affection. The play is a delicate depiction of racial tensions and of growing old. Alfred Uhry, the playwright, has created two outsiders who come to a mutual respect based on their independence, strength, and stubborn integrity "Driving Miss Daisy" is directed by Will McGregor who has performed in and directed many NTG shows in the past and will be performed one weekend only: January 26-29, 2012 at the Janice B.
