Holstein Highway w/ David Nefesh
Holstein Highway is an Americana/Roots Rock band from Farmington, Michigan. Their acoustic/electric sound calls to mind artists like the Eagles and Marc Cohn. Award-winning songwriter Bob Young crafts a sonic journey across the American heartland in search of hope, justice, and sometimes even love.
Clever wordplay, passionate vocals, and a mix of foot-stomping grooves and richly-textured soundscapes make for a very enjoyable and engaging concert experience. In other words, you're going to deeply enjoy and it wonder how you haven't heard of these guys before.
Bob is accompanied by his "twin brother of another mother" Tom Kozanecki on rhythm guitar. Joining them on lead guitar is Detroit Music Award winner David Nefesh, Bob's son Josh Young on bass guitar, and drummer Doug Austin (or another seasoned vet when he's not available).
Holstein Highway was formed in 2014 by Bob and Tom, founders of the blues/rock band Delta Twins. As the five-year tenure of the Delta Twins band drew to a close, a new road was calling one more acoustic and searching in nature. "Sure, we could've kept the Delta Twins name", said Bob, "but we had achieved a sound and reputation with that band and didn't want to confuse its legacy."
Holstein Highway is already creating its own legacy, with enough material for two albums already and more great music on the way.
David Nefesh will open the show and join Holstein Highway for their set. An eight-time nominee (and one-time winner) in the Detroit Music Awards, David burst into the music scene in 1999, and has written 100+ songs and released three albums since then. His style is folk-rock at it's best: Contemporary folk blended with pop and rock influences with a universal message that appeals to anyone interested in love, pain, joy, and living honest. His work blends a strong voice, melodic sensibilities, literate lyrics, and polished guitar playing.
