The Funny Woman Who Lost Her Dumpling
The Funny Woman Who Lost Her Dumpling
Thistle Theatre, a puppet theatre for families, presents "The Funny Woman Who Lost Her Dumpling". Based on a Japanese story, a funny woman follows a rice dumpling down a hole and it bounces its way into another world. Following the road, she meets 3 statues of Jizo, who each warn her of danger. Unfortunately, an Oni (horned ogre) finds her and takes her captive. The funny woman uses humor and her wits to adapt to her changing situations. The show features tabletop Bunraku, rod puppets and transformations in scale. Funded in part with a Family Grant from the Jim Henson Foundation and by 4Culture/King County Lodging Tax.
