19th Annual Event Fun for the Whole Family!
Celebrate this year's harvest and the rich local wine industry at the 19th annual Grape Stomp Festa on Saturday, September 5th from 11am-7pm at Menghini Winery in the mountain town of Julian. Kick off your shoes, roll up your pant legs and wine, dine and stomp the day away at this old-world style festa. With two huge barrels full of grapes, one for adults and one for children, it offers fun for the whole family.
"The Julian Grape Stomp gives you the opportunity to feel the soft grapes squish between your feet and understand how wine was traditionally made," said Mike Menghini, President of the Julian Chamber of Commerce, sponsor of this annual event.
Tons of grapes are blessed then poured into the barrels and then, let the stomping begin! Enjoy dancing and stomping to a wide variety of tunes including Italian music by the very versatile Roman Holiday. There is an activity area for the kids, bocce ball, wine tasting and a wide variety of gourmet food and unique crafts for sale. Situated in rolling hills covered with vineyards and apple orchards near the historic town of Julian, the Menghini Winery offers an ideal setting for this fun-filled event.
Returning by popular demand, the exclusive VIP tent with comfortable shaded seating, light snacks, a no host full bar (one drink included), one fast pass to the stomping tubs and prestige. VIP tickets are $50 each and are sold in advance.
Regular admission tickets are $15 for adults over 21 (which includes a keepsake wine glass) and $5 for children 6-20. Kids five and under are free.
