A Night with Greg Sestero (Mark from THE ROOM)
On Friday, September 11, Greg Sestero, co-star of the modern cult film sensation The Room, returns to PhilaMOCA to screen rare behind-the-scenes footage from the film and participate in a live script reading with audience members! Greg will also participate in a Q&A and signing.
The last time Greg Sestero visited PhilaMOCA was for the first stop on the book tour for The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room, The Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made where he participated in a hilarious live script reading with a sold out crowd. Since then, Greg's book won the 2014 Best Non-fiction at the National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards and was optioned by James Franco who will direct and star in the adaptation, currently being penned by the team behind 500 Days of Summer, The Fault in Our Stars, and The Spectacular Now.
Dubbed "the Citizen Kane of bad movies" by Entertainment Weekly, filmmaker/actor Tommy Wiseau's romantic disasterpiece The Room continues to screen to sell out audiences twelve years after its premiere. It is without argument the most mainstream-recognized example of bad filmmaking since 1959's Plan 9 from Outer Space.
Interested script reading participants should e-mail PhilaMOCA ahead of time with their desired scene/character: curation@philamoca.org
