Comedy at the Shea-New Year's Eve with Joe Wong and Rick Canavan
With his third appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman in September, Joe Wong is one of Boston comedy's hottest properties. He's shot three appearances for the TV show Ellen and also appeared on Ellen Degeneres' TBS variety special, had a small role in the Ricky Gervais film The Invention of Lying, performed in front of a crowd that included Vice President Joe Biden at the Radio and TV Correspondents Dinner in Washington, D.C., and won the 2010 Great American Comedy Festival in Nebraska. In 2010, he was named Boston Comedian of the Year. This is his third appearance at the Shea Theater.
Rick Canavan is a stand up comedian from Boston. He has performed in the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival, the Laughing Sull Comedy Festival and the Boston Comedy Festival's Alternative Comedy Showcase, and has showcased for the producers of the Late Show with David Letterman, and the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. Rick also is a regular performer at the Naked Comedy Showcase, Mottley's Comedy Club, and hosts a monthly show at the Comedy Studio in Harvard Square.
