Stephanie Blythe, mezzo-soprano, and Craig Terry, piano: As Long as There are Songs
Bass-baritone James Morris is suffering from a cold and regrets that he must withdraw from this Sunday afternoon's performance.
Parlance Chamber Concerts is excited to announce that the great American mezzo-soprano STEPHANIE BLYTHE will return to our series with PIANIST CRAIG TERRY for a special concert entitled As Long as There are Songs. This musical journey through the gems of The Great American Songbook will be a memorably celebratory conclusion to our 9th season!
AS LONG AS THERE ARE SONGS
Join Stephanie Blythe and Craig Terry as they take the audience on a musical journey through the American Songbook, sharing gems from some of the greatest composers and lyricists of their age, including Irving Berlin, Saul Chaplin and Sammy Cahn, Harry Warren and Mack Gordon, Jerome Kern and B.G. DeSylva, Harold Arlen, George Gershwin and Johnny Mercer. From tender loves songs to passionate torch songs to melodies that remind us to always "to look for the silver lining," they defined their generation and helped see our country through the Great Depression and two World Wars.
This will be a memorable afternoon of music making and a celebratory conclusion to Parlance Chamber Concerts 9th season!
