Kristin Lee, violin; Paul Watkins, cello; Gilles Vonsattel, piano: All Beethoven
Beethoven will be spotlighted on December 13 as the spectacular young violinist Kristin Lee and pianist Gilles Vonsattel (winners of the coveted Avery Fisher Career Grant) join forces with the celebrated cellist Paul Watkins of the Emerson String Quartet. Their program will feature three highlights of Beethoven's chamber music: his heroic "Kreutzer" violin sonata, intimate C-major cello sonata, and ever-popular "Ghost" Trio.
Music by Ludwig van Beethoven

"It's not often that one attends a concert and hears a young virtuoso not in the making, but fully realized as a master. Violinist Kristin Lee was simply spectacular." The Advocate
"Mr. Watkins's charismatic, responsive, tonally resplendent playing was no surprise. He has brought new qualities to the Emerson String Quartet, which he joined last year. Here he was exceptionally fine." The New York Times
"Mr. Vonsattel used his razor-sharp technique to make the older works sound as adventurous as the more recent ones." The New York Times
