Boulanger Birthday Celebration!
Fête Concert Series kicks off our second season by celebrating the Boulanger sisters!
Nadia Boulanger was one of the most influential composition teachers in the 20th Century as well as a renowned composer, conductor, pianist, and organist. Lili Boulanger learned music from a very young age in a musical family. At 19, she became the first woman to win the Prix de Rome for her composition Faust et Hélène.

Special Guest David Conte is a composer and was a student of Nadia Boulanger. He will speak about her pedagogical style and we will perform works by some of her prominent students including Conte.
As always a unique Happy Birthday in the style of Boulanger by Resident Composer Eric Choate!
