Two Chairs Telling: Not Dead Yet Edition (9-8)
Two Chairs Telling begins its fifth year on the BLB stage with two distinctly contrasting styles of storytelling, as three-time Story Grand Slam and Moth Grand Slam winner Ward Rubrecht shares the stage with Bil Lepp, a five-time winner of the West Virginia Liar's Contest. Rubrecht tells stories of pickup trucks and bike commuting, and is a storyteller, journalist and arts organizer based in the Whittier neighborhood of Minneapolis. Lepp is a champion liar, whose stories contain morsels of truth that present universal themes. His first book, The King of Little Things, won the PEN Steven Kroll Award for Children's Book Writing.
