MASTER CLASS by Terrence McNally Friday/Saturday/Sunday, February 19-28, 2016
Opera Mariposa officially launches the new Mariposa Theatre Wing (MTW) with Terrence McNally's MASTER CLASS, the Tony Award-winning play about legendary opera diva Maria Callas. This brilliant play has been praised as a "total triumph" (NY Post) that "will be talked about for years to come whenever people point to theater experiences that genuinely deserve to be labeled by the overused word 'great'" (The Hollywood Reporter). You won't want to miss this compelling drama where singers and audiences alike spend the evening with the most famous soprano who ever lived.
PEOPLE LIKE US Saturday, May 14, 2016
In this new Broadway revue show, modern musical theatre songs will be reframed in an innovative new setting as multiple lives (and Broadway shows) intersect on a single night in New York City. People Like Us will be Opera Mariposa's fourth annual benefit performance in honour of the International Awareness Day for chronic neuro-immune diseases, and a portion of every ticket sale will support charities that aid people living with debilitating illnesses like Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) and Fibromyalgia (FM).
