More information on AMERICAN REEL:
David Carradine (Kill Bill and Bound for Glory), Michael Maloney (Young Victoria and Truly, Madly, Deeply), and Mariel Hemingway (Deconstructing Harry and Manhattan) come together in this satirical buddy drama set at the top of the music business. The dizzying whirl of fame -- it's all part of the American Reel. Ladies and gentlemen, meet singer-songwriter James Lee Springer (David Carradine), whose uncompromising style has held him back for the past twenty years. "Why did it take you so long to make it?" is the question that keeps coming back at him. Springer wryly counters, "I keep punchin' out record executives." Well... whatever the reason, he's now getting another shot, thanks to the efforts of his long-time best friend/manager , Jason Fields (Michael Maloney), who has a whole other idea of what it takes to make it and stay there. The ultimatum Jason Fields lays on his friend is simple: "Are you gonna get real?" With a great musical score by Thom Bishop, featuring songs written and performed by David Carradine, American Reel touches the mind and the heart in the way that it asks, "When your dream finally comes true, was it all worth it?" ********************************************************* This is a double feature: your ticket admits you to BOTH films!
The box office opens approx. 15 minutes before the first film and then re-opens shortly before the second film for those who wish to only see the second film.
