Slow Food Day: Farm-to-Table Dinner
Michael's Genuine Food & Drink Grand Cayman is proud to announce the Cayman Islands' first Slow Food Day on February 4, 2012.
Please join us at the restaurant for a farm-to-table dinner with guest celebrity chef Jonathan Waxman, best known for his simple, ingredient-driven approach to Italian food at legendary New York City restaurant, Barbuto.
After a welcome cocktail and hors d'oeuvres, guests can enjoy three courses, some plated and some served family-style, with wine pairings. James Beard Award-winning chef/owner Michael Schwartz will join Waxman in the kitchen, along with the Michael's Genuine Food & Drink Grand Cayman team of executive chef Thomas Tennant and pastry chef Adriana Duran.
Tickets are USD $110 per person for general admission and USD $99 for Slow Food Members (click "BEGIN ORDER" and you will be prompted to enter your password to reveal the discounted price,) plus a minimal online processing fee. Each ticket includes the entire experience: food, wine pairing and gratuity. There is no tax on-island.
Slow Food Day is part of Cayman Culinary Month 2012 and is devoted to raising awareness of Grand Cayman's own food producers. It is hosted through a collaboration between Slow Food South Sound, Cayman Islands Agricultural Society, and Michael's Genuine Food & Drink, with generous support from sponsors Camana Bay, Bon Vivant, BlackBeard's and Fosters Food Fair. In the morning, from 9-11:00 a.m., local chefs and farmers will team up for a complimentary tasting of food made with local ingredients at The Farmers Market at The Grounds in Savannah. The event is free and open to the public.
