Pianist Jeremy DesChane on BMC Night Beat
Jeremy DesChane has earned recognition as a promising young artist. His performances include solo appearances across the U.S., a solo recital at Kilbourn Hall in Rochester, New York, chamber music appearances across the U.S., including an award-winning piano trio performance in New York City for the 2012 MTNA National Convention, and appearances with orchestra in Bellingham, Seattle, Ellensburg, and Rochester.
He is a four-time top award recipient of the Bellingham Music Club High School Piano Competition (2001-2004), and also a two-time winner of the WSMTA Young Artist's Competition. In the NW, Jeremy studied with Cheryl Meng, Karen Brusher, Kagari Tanabe, Robert Lundquist, and Jeffrey Gilliam. The recipient of scholarships, Jeremy graduated from the Eastman School of Music and Central Washington University; his teachers include Rebecca Penneys and John Pickett. He has also benefited from the guidance of leading artists such as Leon Fleisher, Malcom Bilson, Kristian Bezuidenhout, Stephen Drury, Tina Dahl, Gil Kalish, Stephen Beus, and Seán Duggan in masterclasses, lessons, and studies at the Icicle Creek and Chautauqua festivals. Jeremy lives in Seattle.
