BMC Night Beat presents pianist Susan Tang
The Bellingham Music Club inaugurated its 100th season with a Centennial Gala concert on June 21. Fifteen winners of BMC student awards blew into Bellingham from all over, served up two hours of virtuosity, and left 500+ ecstatic fans drenched in music. Now, the BMC Night Beat series takes over the year-long centennial festivities.
First up is pianist Susan Tang (BMC awards in 1997 and 1998) who will open Night Beat's third season with works by Chopin, Ives, Ligeti and Albeniz. A graduate of Sehome High School, as well as the Eastman and Manhattan Schools of Music, she now is an assistant professor of piano at Northeastern Illinois University and artistic director of the Chicago Chamber Music Festival. She has appeared at Ravinia Festival near Chicago, Carnegie Hall and on WFMT and WQXR. Perhaps most intriguing are her performances with the famed Mabou Mines Dollhouse in New York City as pianist/actor.
SAVE by buying the new Night Beat Season Pass. 6 concerts for $60. Go to event #2142639 or type Night Beat Season Pass in the search box. Please visit our website to view the entire Night Beat season.
