A Playhouse Recessionay Christmas
When Violet, an upwardly mobile woman, played by Jacqueline Dandeneau, loses her house in the mortgage crisis, her small business to bankruptcy and her husband to her yoga teacher, she is forced to move herself and her children back to her childhood home. Her less than "average" parents, played by Bob and Lynne Wells welcome her home with open arms, a host of family traditions and poisonous cookies. Her sister, played by Amy Tetzlaff, who has lived her whole life upstairs making crayons for the local Walfdorf school and teaching noseflute, has her own set of problems. The neighbors, played by local guest artists, keep popping in to deliver Christmas cheer and mayhem ensues. Throughout it all the true spirit of giving and love prevails and while all is not well in the household, perhaps there is a glimmer of light.
With live music by Tim Randles, Tim Gray and Marla Joy, A Playhouse Recessionary Christmas is sure to tickle your funny bone and warm your heart. Written by Tyler Olsen and directed by Lydia Foreman with lighting by David Ferney and set by Lush Newton, the show will have you reaching for the hot chocolate and fresh baked cookies (watch out for the red ones) as you settle into some nice holiday cheer.
