A Reading of "The Mnemonist" by Angelo Parra
Please join us on Thursday, October 8th,  Friday, October 9th at 8pm; or Saturday, October 10 at 2pm, Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) is presenting The Mnemonist, a reading of an original full-length play that tests the boundaries of the caregiver-patient relationship, and explores the unbearable burden of memory. Saturday's performance will be followed by a talkback session with the playwright, director, and cast. The performances take place at: Steamer Company Firehouse, 117, Main Street, 2nd Floor, Ossining, NY 10562.

The play is about a man named Stan Hellman, tormented by his inability to forget anything, who has scheduled a dangerous and untested brain surgery. Only Maddie Dawson, the tenacious and quirky woman he has hired to care for him, stands between Stan and the potentially disastrous results.

Playwright Angelo Parra has had plays produced Off-Broadway and regionally. His play The Devil's Music: The Life and Blues of Bessie Smith was named among "The Top Ten Off-Broadway Experiences" by the New York Daily News. A member of the Dramatists Guild and author of Playwriting for Dummies, Mr. Parra teaches playwriting at SUNY Rockland.

Director Bob Rogerson's career has encompassed every aspect of theater from acting and writing, to directing. Likewise, he has appeared in productions and companies large and small, alongside such luminaries as Bob Hoskins, Betty Buckley, and Richard Benjamin. As a proud member of Actors Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA, Mr. Rogerson has worked in almost every entertainment medium.

The cast of The Mnemonist features:
Tom Coppola: Acting credits include Willie Conklin (Ragtime); Joe Pitt (Angels in America); Baker (Into the Woods), among others.

Dianne Roxy Pennington: Active member of Yorktown Community Players, Axial Theatre, and Westchester Collaborative Theater. Acting credits include Sissie (Dividing the Estate); Wendy (Zombie Chic); and a 2014 episode of Investigative Discovery Channel's A Crime to Remember.

This play was developed through WCT workshops, a theater laboratory for writers, actors, and directors.
