"Beloved by all school age children, especially Middle School and High School kids, this Caribbean adaptation of the popular fairy tale "The Little Mermaid" with overtones of Romeo and Juliet, garnered eight Tony nominations for its Broadway run.
The show tells the story of a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. The fantastical gods who rule the island guide the girl on a quest to test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of prejudice, hatred and death."
