WORKING is an ensemble musical that uses songs and monologues to tell the collective story of America's working force-the teachers, the corporate bosses, the farm workers, the prostitutes, the grocery clerks, the firemen, and many others. Their stories are at turns hilarious, heartbreaking, and deeply revealing.
The piece is adapted from a book of interviews with real people by Studs Terkel, and the eclectic, memorable score is by Stephen Schwartz, James Taylor, Craig Carnelia, Micki Grant, and Mary Rodgers.
Presented by the UW School of Drama BA Council and made possible by a grant from the School of Drama, 'Selections from WORKING THE MUSICAL' features exciting new talent from the University of Washington's acclaimed undergraduate theatre program in its cast and artistic team, and the show's live band features talented young musicians from around the Seattle area.
20 tickets will be available for purchase at the door each performance. If you require wheelchair access, please notify us in advance.
