Being in the presence of the sight and sound of the gramophone is to have
direct contact with the voices of dead. In this listening session, MAC will explore the gramophone as an agent for reflecting on and reacting to death and disaster via a 1905 machine and period recordings.
MAC is the host of WFMU's Antique Phonograph Music Program and has been
presenting talking machine demonstrations for over 20 years.
