LION'S MOUTH (cathartic indie-pop/rock from LA by way of Madison)

"Lion's Mouth hits it hard and heavy. This duo act is on fire. If you get a chance to hear this outfit. I highly recommend them." Ari John White, Red Dragon TV.
The women of Lion's Mouth are as fearless as the music they create. Singer and guitarist Chelsea Z. has a past full of dangerous hobbies which include training as a volunteer firefighter to playing ice hockey. Percussionist Sara Wexler is a double-edged sword having studied both Tae Kwon Do and drums since she was in elementary school. With all of that energy harnessed in their songs, it is hard not to take notice. Lion's Mouth produces headstrong indie-pop that is not content with being background music.
Lion's Mouth has the rare ability to surprise their audience. As a duo, they pump out more sound and heart than your average four piece band. Armed with a litany of musical influences, their songs are highly emotive, unabashedly honest, and full of gutsy musical transitions. Chelsea and Sara place an emphasis on honesty with introspective lyrics that sway from hope and grief to perseverance and doubt.
Their instrumental style is distinctly expressive. Even when stripped of words, Lion's Mouth creates music that feels relatable. Swift, driving beats burst from Sara's sticks hitting you like a well-timed punch. As you lie breathless on the floor, Chelsea's "amazingly sweet voice" (105.5 TripleM) and "five-piece orchestra" (Music Without Boundaries) guitar work pull you back up to your feet. These dynamic styles combine to create forceful, two-fisted confessions.
THE MILENIUM (titanic pop/alternative from Eau Claire)

"If we treat people as they are, we make them worse. If we treat people as they could be, we make them better."
That's the mentality alternative pop rock band, The Millenium, aims to exemplify through their music. Breaking into the scene in early May opening for The Summer Set, the group has since been hard at work playing shows, showcasing their music, and meeting new people. Within a few short months the band has successfully completed numerous midwest and east coast tours securing a loyal fanbase and finding a place in their hearts with their debut EP, "It's So Much Friendlier With Two," a record dedicated to love, loss, and learning - themes that resonate not just with each member individually, but have gone as far as defining our generation as a whole.
While often feeling like a pop band in a punk world, The Millenium strives to bring more non traditional elements into their sound. Incorporating realms of indie, acoustic and electronic styles in a sometimes eclectic fashion, one is sure to appreciate a genuine sound showcasing undeniably catchy and melodically driven tracks intertwined with a playful and inventive blend of acoustic guitar and keyboard.
"These songs are an extension of ourselves, much in the same way as our arms and legs," says The Millenium. "These songs created us more than we created them, and it is with this we hope to connect to our audience through shared experiences."
HEAVY LOOKS (power-pop/rock from Madison)

"A thousand times the worse to want thy light.
Love goes toward love as schoolboys from their books,
But love from love, toward school with heavy looks."
Surviving post-college disillusionment in below-freezing Wisconsin, four friends decided to focus their musical passions into writing feverish power pop songs.
To date, the collaboration is pure gangbusters, considering the breadth of venues and artists with whom Heavy Looks has had the good fortune of performing.
Dirk and Roz play guitars and write the songs while TJ and Eric weave the beats on bass and drums, respectively.
Having released their debut EP, Senses Growing Dull, a year after their inception, Heavy Looks is currently busy setting up shows around Madison, Milwaukee, and wherever else will host them.

"It's obvious that this is a song from personal experience, with very heartfelt lyrics, and that's what makes great music." - Roy Elkins (CEO of Broadjam.com)
"You have a wonderful voice....the vocals are great, the song is great, the genre is great. I love it." - Sandman (Sandman Productions)
"I think it sounds great....In the mid-eighties there was this really cool, post-modern rock movement where female vocalists were allowed to really use their vocal power - you remind me of that."
-Randy Hawke (Radio Program Director, WJJO)
