Author Brian Selznick brings "The Marvels"
Share the journey that begins in 1766 when a young boy, Billy Marvel, survives a shipwrreck and finds work at the Royal Theatre in London. There, he and his family flourish for generations as brilliant actors until 1900, when the youngest, Leontes Marvel is banished from the stage. Nearly a century later, a descendant, Joseph Jervis, runs away from school and seeks refuge with an uncle, Albert Nightengale. His uncle's strange, beautiful house, with its mysterious portraits and ghostly presences, captivates Joseph and leads him on a search for clues about his family and the past.
