Tonight's illustrated lecture by Medical Examiner and Forensic Pathologist Jay Stahl-Herz will provide an overview of the forensic approach to gunshot wounds. It will cover various aspects of firearm mechanics and patterns of injuries associated with gunshot wounds, as well as discussing the differences between firearms, range of fire determination and interesting case discussions.
Jay Stahl-Herz, MD is a board-certified forensic pathologist working full-time as a medical examiner and independent forensic consultant. He holds academic appointments at New York University School of Medicine and SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. He has several published journal articles and book chapters and has presented at various national meetings and training courses. He is a fellow of the National Association of Medical Examiners. He has consulted for the United Nations and worked in many other nations.
