A Gathering of Fiddlers and Fishermen #17 with MC Ilana Katz
Ilana Katz Katz, fiddler, novelist, visual artist: Ilana Katz Katz's fiddling stems from the old-time Appalachian tradition and dives into the blues from time to time. Her unique style as a solo artist and in a band has taken her to the stage with greats such as Ronnie Earl, Bobby Radcliff, Joe Moss, Diane Blue, Cedric Watson, and the Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra, to name a few. While her mainstay is blues and old-time fiddle, she is a versatile, improvisational musician who is as comfortable performing solo shows as she is being featured as the fiddler in 14 piece rock bands. Her first love is performing in Boston's subways, where you can find her most Fridays.
