Tellabration

There was a time when storytelling consisted of one person trying to convey a sequence of events to others by using words, gestures and/or sounds. Like many things, storytelling has evolved to include a variety of styles like the Beat poetry of Jack Kerouac or the comedic tales of Bill Cosby, the homespun wit of Garrison Keillor or the cutting edge observations of Spaulding Gray; call it spoken word, stand up comedy, or monologues it's all storytelling with the intimacy of live theatre and the literary inspiration of the finest novels. The tradition continues with Tellabration, an evening of stories and songs for grown-ups. Tellabration is part of a world wide event celebrating the ancient art of storytelling and it's hosted by Paul Woodland, an authentic practitioner of the oral tradition. Tellabration because storytelling is not just for children!
