Comedian and master impressionist Vincent Cook steps off the comedy stage and brings his unique talent to the theatre in this one-man show that goes beyond the stories, feature films and documentaries and digs into the soul of the man loved and respected by millions. Directed by filmmaker, manager and veteran theatre artist Tony Spires, ALI shares his quiet moments, his intimate feelings as well as his public triumphs. Conceived and performed by Vincent Cook. Comedian /actor Vincent Cook has been in good professional company for quite some time on stage, screen and comedy clubs. As a stand-up comedian and all around entertainer, he toured as the opening act for the late great Luther Vandross, Patti Labelle, Kenny G, The Temptations, New Edition, Ray Goodman and Brown and many others. Legendary comedian Richard Pryor was so impressed with Cook that he handpicked him for his last live stand-up comedy tour. He has worked with Oscar nominated actor Will Smith and Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx in the movie ALI and Academy Award winning actress Halle Barry in director Robert Townsend's B.A.P.S. TV Audiences can tune in to watch him on Starz channel in the series 1st Amendment Martin Lawrence Presents. Cook was nominated for an NAACP theater award in 2007 for his outstanding performance in the one man show that he wrote and produced ALI: The Man. The Myth. The People's Champion. Directed by Tony Spires. Director Spires has been the personal manager to comedian/actors such as Don "D.C." Curry, D.L. Hughley, Laura Hayes and Vincent Cook. Tony Spires is the writer/producer/director/co-star of the Indie feature films Two Degrees and the film ode to the Black stand-up comedians Tears of a Clown. He is also the writer/producer/director and star of numerous theatre productions. In addition, Spires is the founder and executive producer of the nation's longest-running urban comedy festival: The Bay Area Black Comedy Competition.
