Event
Rochester Sings
The Rochester Oratorio Society collaborates with Gibbs & Main to restore and celebrate the values that make our city a great place to live. We re-create the centennial of Rochester's weekly Sings. These popular events promoted tolerance, understanding, community spirit and constructive enjoyment through voices lifted in song. The last of these events was held on June 7, 1912 with selections from The Rochester Songbook. It's a joy to rediscover these long-familiar favorites, moving anthems, patriotic selections and period pieces still being sung today. The ROS celebrates the historic event, while Gibbs & Main help us look forward to the fresh music of tomorrow with the world premier of LULU by Rochester's own Diego Garcia. Celebrate the very best qualities of the city we love with the best artists our musical culture offers. Sing along with us and raise your voices for the better of all!
