EVENT DETAILS Shine your shoes because CoCA's 23rd Annual and most infamous event, our 24-Hour Art Marathon & Auction fundraiser is back, this year bringing the Seattle art community "23 Enigma," a mighty phenomena, just like CoCA...
THE AUCTION GALA On Friday, November 13 doors open at 5:30pm for CoCA's popular silent and live auctions with the effervescent Laura Michalek, our auctioneer and guide for the evening. While you decide which of the pieces you'll be bidding on, enjoy tasty beverages from Columbia Winery, Elysian Brewing, Sparkle Donkey Tequila, Dragon's Head Cider. You'll be seated for a sumptuous dinner created by Wonderlust Catering, delight in centerpieces (for you to bid on) from Juniper Flowers, and groove to the funky beats of the DJ Jesse Milden.
To further our mission, CoCA offers 50% of all auction sales back to the participating artists, so the higher you bid, the more you directly support contemporary art! While you're waiting for the auction to being, you can practice bidding: raise your hand high, put it down, raise it again. There, you've got it!

THE ARTISTS We've put together a stellar list of artists for this year's event including: Juli Adams, Kate Alkarni, Curtis Ashby, Flynn Bickley, Larry Calkins, Bo Choi, Chris Crites, Casey Curran, Braden Duncan, David Francis, Anne Marie Grgich, Aramis Hamer, Jazz Mom, Holly Ballard Martz, Savina Mason, Gabriel Marquez, John Osgood, Kyle Rees, June Sekiguchi, Chris Sheridan. We're also featuring the collaborative team of Zorn Taylor and Dave Kennedy and for the very first time, we have video game designers, Galvanic Games (winning bidders get a character in their image).
These artists are preparing to paint, cut, design, melt, fabricate, code, photograph, glue, snip, draw, wire, and sew over 100 phenomenal new works of art during the frenetic, controlled chaos that is the CoCA 24-Hour Art Marathon.
THE MARATHON The entire event launches at 9PM on Wednesday, November 11 with 24 hours of controlled chaos as 23 emerging and established artists paint, draw, wax, construct, collage, spray, write and sculpt their way to creating nearly 100 new works of art to be auctioned off at the gala on Friday. Everyone is welcome to come watch the artists in action during the Marathon.
On Thursday, November 12, from 6-9pm, "23 Enigma" will be a part of Capitol Hill Art Walk. Join the ongoing cacophony at the Art Party, meet the artists, get a peek at the work in progress, enjoy the beats of DJ Eric Krause and witness the launch of the new CoCA Membership Directory. Admission by donation, beer by Elysian.
CoCA MISSION Since 1980, CoCA has served the Pacific Northwest as a catalyst and forum for the advancement, development and understanding of contemporary art; this annual fundraiser helps support the hundreds of artists the organization presents each year. And it's a phenomenally spectacular party.
