Two Genius Husbands
An experimental farce, Two Genius Husbands investigates the possibility of genius and the simultaneous impossibility of a pair of geniuses. A queer take on Beckettian theater and Greek tragedy, this is the play that dares to ask: what is the difference between desire and domesticity? What is the difference between a bear and the mother of a bear? In the play, Q & Q, a pair of androgynous genius husbands, are laboriously rewriting Aeschylus's lost tragedy, Callisto. As their frustration mounts, their maid and paramour Eleanor comes home drunk, pregnant, and wilting on the arm of a marksman named Dodger. As the action between these four unfolds, the Q's discover that perhaps their greatest tragedy is coming to life before their very eyes.
